Rocky Mountain High!

Today, we went with our buddies to Rocky Mountain Park. It is Mommy's favorite time of the year to go--the trees are changing, the fish are spawning, and the elk are rutting (I don't know what any of that means, but Mommy seemed to enjoy it). We went with our buddies too, so that made it even more fun. After a picnic lunch, we threw rocks in the stream and then went for a long walk around a lake. We got to see all kinds of birds, fish and a bunch of elk too. All in all, it was a perfect fall day!

Butter Flies?

Let me just start by saying that, yes, I know I'm a slacker. Forgive me, family and friends, it's been way too long since my last post. It's not that I haven't been doing anything...in fact, I have been so busy that I haven't had time to blog. Now, however, both Mommy and I are sick and can't leave the house anyway, so.....perfect time to catch you all up!

Let's begin with a little trip we took a couple weeks ago to the Butterfly Pavilion. Yes, butterflies. Those beautiful little creatures that like to hang around flowers and ponds and all things pretty. While they were nice and all, I must admit that the butterflies were actually my least favorite part. I much preferred, to Mommy's dismay, all the creepy crawly creatures instead. We got to see spiders and cockroaches and millipedes...oh my! Mommy, being the brave woman that she is, even held a tarantula! I thought that was pretty cool. You can bet that I'm going to be bragging to my buddies about how superfly my Mama is!

Go West, Young Man!

On Sunday, Mommy and I embarked on a great adventure out west. It involved airplanes, cougars, castles and beaches. Okay, so the cougars were behind a gate at the Cougar Mountain Zoo...and the castle may have been on the small side...playground size (but it did have a cool slide!). The beach was less like a beach and more like a sandbox in my buddy's backyard. But the airplane, that was 100% real and I was flying in it! I've flown in airplanes before, but I was little then and didn't really understand what was going on. This time, I was totally on board with the whole flying thing!

So, why was I on a plane? We flew to Seattle to visit Mommy's best friend, Dana, and her little girl, Natalie. Dana (Aunt D as I like to call her) is pregnant with my next newest buddy, a little girl that we like to call Baby Girl 2.0. She is having kind of a rough pregnancy and Mommy thought that my pretty smile and big brown eyes might make her feel better. I think it worked, but unfortunately that baby girl thought I was so cool that she kept wanting to get out to see me. I said, "No baby, you keep baking. Your Mommy will tell you when it's time to come out and play". Get used to it, kid, Mommies tell you when to do EVERYTHING!

We spent four days in the beautiful Northwest--playing in parks, going to the zoo, taking walks, and spending quiet afternoons reading books in Natalie's room. We had so much fun! Natalie and I got to be even better friends. In fact, I think it's safe to say that we're officially "Best Buds"--just like our Mommies!

FUN TIMES!
