Getting Baptized

Mama said yesterday was a big day for me, because I got baptized at Church. It was pretty neat. I got to stand in front of everybody, while they sprinkled water on my head and talked about how special I was. Then Pastor Ken picked me up and walked up and down the aisle with me while everyone talked about how cute I was. Mama cried a little, and Daddy just laughed because I was really liking being the center of attention. Here are some pictures of my big day! (the ones in the church didn't really turn out)

Time to Childproof!

Mama says it's definitely time to childproof, whatever that means. I see no child here...I'm a big boy! I love exploring, especially in the kitchen. There is one cabinet that Daddy and Mommy say I can play in, but that's no fun. I like to look in all of them!

Climbing the stairs

Ahhh, those elusive stairs. I have been wanting to try those out for a long time. Mama didn't think I was ready yet, so when she finally let me try, I showed her. I climbed up two flights of stairs on my very first try. Here is a video of me--I'm a climbing machine!

"Helping" Mama

I am such a big boy now that I can help Mommy around the house. Mama says that sometimes it doesn't really help her, but I know she appreciates the effort. Here is a video of me helping her fold laundry.

Lots of catching up to do!

It's been a long time since I put anything new on my website. I have just been so busy. Since I wrote on this last, I have gotten three new teeth, learned to crawl up the stairs, started walking behind things and even got baptized. It's so busy being me!

I'll start with my grandparents' visit. Grandma and Grandpa Balleydier and Aunt Melissa came to see me last week. It was so fun. We went to all kinds of places and I got held a lot! I really turned on the charm, and I don't think they wanted to get on the plane without me. I can be pretty cute, you know. Here are some pictures of their visit.

Just another day at the park...

It was a really pretty day here in sunny Colorado. Mommy is super excited, because it's already starting to look and feel like fall. She tells me that soon the leaves will start changing colors and the temperature will cool down. It was so pretty today that Mommy and Daddy and I took a walk (in my new stroller) to the park. I got to swing really high, and I felt like such a big boy. Daddy even got on a swing, which I thought was silly. I was so happy that he played at the park with me that I said "Dada" for the first time tonight. I guess that's a big deal, because he got all excited about it and told Mommy to come listen. So, for the record, I can say "Mom", "Mama", and "Dada" now. I'm working on Murphy, but it's a tough one. Here are some pictures of our day at the park and a little video of Dada and I, since everyone liked my other video so much. Happy Fall, everybody!

My Favorite Time of Day

I am a water baby. Pools, showers, bath tubs---bring 'em on. I love water! My favorite time of the day right now is bath time. I just got some cool new toys to play with too--a car, a boat,a plane and a bus! Mama thinks I get so dirty on purpose, because I want to play in the water. I do like bathtime, but I don't get dirty on purpose--dirt just likes me. Here are some pictures of bathtime, including my first haircut, which Mommy secretly did while I was focusing on my bath toys!

My Laugh

Mommy and Daddy always say that their favorite thing in the world is hearing me laugh. I don't know why...I mean everybody laughs, but they think that I have a super cute laugh. So, here is a little video of me--you can be the judge.

My New Toy!

Today, I got a brand new toy. Since I can stand up next to things now, Mommy and Daddy got me a table that has all kinds of buttons that make music and teach me things. I had a lot of fun trying to figure out how it worked. I love being a big boy!

Weekend Getaway

This weekend, Mommy, Daddy and I went to Keystone with our next-door neighbors and buddies, Tristan, Christina and Mekaya. We went for a LONG hike and got really tired. Mommy and Daddy are still sore (but I wasn't supposed to tell anyone that). We had a great time--aside from Daddy getting a head injury when the bear proofing bar on the trash can hit him (Mommy says that's what he gets for drinking :) Here are some pictures of our really fun trip!

Pretty Flowers!

Mama has to go back to work this Thursday, which means I get to go back to daycare. I can't wait to see all my buddies again and have new toys to play with! Mama is sad though, so she says we have to take advantage of our last few days of summer. So today, Mama and I went to the Botanic Gardens in Denver for the first time. There were lots of pretty flowers, and my favorite, lots of WATER! I wanted to jump in all of the ponds, but Mama wouldn't let me. Here are a few pictures of our big day outside...

Buddies

Saturday, we went to see my buddy, Rowan. He was born five weeks after me, and we have lots of fun together. Take a look at us playing!

Guess Who's Crawling!

You guessed it! Me!

For a few weeks, I could only go a couple feet before falling or collapsing from sheer exhaustion, but now I can go ANYWHERE and EVERYWHERE, and, boy, do I! My favorite things to crawl to are:
1) the cat bowls--I have successfully tipped over the cat water twice now. Mama and Daddy are onto me, but I'm wily so I know that I'll get to it again...
2) the springy door stops--they are all over the house, but they managed to elude me for seven months. Now that I have found them, I love flicking them so they make this really cool, LOUD twangy sound. Mama and Daddy love it (okay, maybe love is a strong word)...but I think I have a future in music.
3) underneath my jumperoo--I used to love being "in" my jumperoo, but now I prefer to be under it. It's kind of my secret hiding place. Every big boy needs a place to get away from the world.
Mama sings a special song to me as I'm crawling off on my adventures (to the tune of "Are you Sleeping?") Watch the video of me below and you can almost imagine Mama singing this little tune:

Where are you going,
where are you going,
Baby E, Baby E
Mama can't keep up with you
She's exhausted and Daddy is too
Please slow down,
Please slow down

Me in action!

My fortress...

I'm back!!!

I know, I know...it's been a long time since I have written a message. Once again, you can blame Mommy, because I can only use the computer when she lets me. She FINALLY got a new camera, which is a darn good thing, because I am getting cuter by the minute. Mama was starting to feel bad about this, but Auntie Dana really guilted her by nominating us for a "major award" for my website--okay, maybe not major, but the only awards anyone has nominated me for so far are "biggest baby feet" and "boogiest nose", so I was pretty excited. We don't have many pictures yet, but here are a few to wet your appetite. I miss you all!!! Love, Big E

No New Pictures?

I know what you're thinking..."why hasn't Emmett posted any new pictures yet? I just can't go another day without seeing those adoreable cheeks and chubby yet muscular legs". Well, we don't have a camera anymore and you can blame Mom...or Dad, depending on how you look at it. I'll explain.

Last weekend we went on a hike to Rainbow Lakes. It was really pretty there..I even saw my first moose! It was a Mommy Moose with a little baby. It reminded me of my Mommy and me (except they were eating leaves and were really hairy). ANYWAY, back to the camera incident. We were hiking along and Daddy was carrying me in my backpack. It was pretty rough terrain, on top of big boulders and through some creeks. Daddy pushed a branch back to make his way through and it popped back and hit me in the lip. I cried a little, just a few seconds, to let them know that I was not happy about the situation. When Daddy stopped so that Mommy could check me out, Mommy started yelling "He's bleeding, he's bleeding!" Daddy couldn't see me so he started freaking out, afraid that he had poked my eye out. I didn't really know what all the fuss was about, but whatever...anyway, to make a long story short(er), Mom dropped everything, including her camera into the lake. She got it out but it won't work anymore. Daddy is convinced that she did it on purpose because she always complains about how much she hates her camera. Mommy said she didn't do it on purpose, but if she would have thought of it, she would have. So, we're now shopping for a new camera. In the meantime, here's an old picture, just in case you're missing my face!

Love you all...Big E

Happy Anniversary, Grandma and Grandpa!

Last weekend we were in Illinois celebrating Grandma and Grandpa Neuhaus' 50th anniversary. I don't know how long that is, but everyone said it was a LONG time to be married. We had a party for them and took lots of pictures. Even though it was Grandma and Grandpa's day, for some reason, I ended up in almost all of the pictures. I guess that's what you get for being so cute. Take a look at the big party!

Hangin' out at the Zoo

I have become quite a fan of zoos. I went to the Denver Zoo last month and just today, we went to the St. Louis Zoo. I even noticed a couple of the animals this time. My favorite were the penguins, because they kept splashing me with water, and it was funny!

Just me and the guys--I'm the only one sleeping though.

Why didn't anyone tell me about icing?

For Avary's birthday, they had this wonderful food called "birthday cake". Mommy wasn't going to give me any, but Grandma Donna let me try the icing, and it was yummy. I can't wait until I have a birthday!

Libby Lu who?

It was my cousin Avary's birthday, so Grandma took her to a store called Libby Lu's. I have a cousin named Libby so I thought that was funny. We all piled in the cars and went there so that Avary could be made up to look like Hannah Montana (whoever that is). It was really funny and we all had a good time watching her get all fixed up. Daddy told them they'd better stay away from me with all that makeup, and I agreed.

Avary...or is it Hannah?

I want to get all pretty too!

Playing with my Cousins

Well, after a LONG 15 hour car ride, we made it all the way to Illinois! We're back home visiting our family, and I'm having a really good time playing with my cousins. They're a little bigger than me, but I'm keeping up with them!

My First Hike!

Mommy and Daddy took me on my first big hike! I loved it. I even have my own seat that sits on Daddy's back so I can see everything. We hiked through mud and snow, and climbed up big hills all the way to Long Lake. It was very pretty. Take a look at my latest adventure!
